Nicole Washington, DO, MPH

Dr. Nicole Washington, DO, MPH, is a board-certified psychiatrist and a dedicated board member of the Heath Health Foundation for Education and Research. With a deep commitment to mental health advocacy and education, she plays a key role in supporting the foundation’s mission to improve healthcare by fostering culturally responsive care, advancing medical education, and empowering communities.

A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dr. Washington earned her Bachelor of Science from Southern University and A&M College. She then moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she attended Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her psychiatry residency at the University of Oklahoma in Tulsa and later earned a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Throughout her career, Dr. Washington has focused on expanding access to mental health care, particularly for populations that are often underserved or overlooked. Her work includes caring for individuals with severe mental illness, advocating for mental health awareness, and addressing the stigma that often prevents people from seeking care.

Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Washington is a sought-after speaker, educator, and content creator. She shares her expertise through public speaking, writing, and her podcast, making health education more accessible while equipping healthcare professionals with the tools to provide effective, culturally informed mental health care.

As a board member of the Heath Health Foundation, Dr. Washington provides invaluable insight into the foundation’s initiatives, helping to shape programs that improve healthcare outcomes.
